Angela Viney Conveyancing Services have been shortlisted for 'Employer of the Year' at the Halifax Courier Business Awards 2017.
Commenting on the news, Angela Viney said: "For Angela Viney Conveyancing Services to be nominated at this year's Halifax Courier Business Awards is fantastic news! And being shortlisted for 'Employer of the Year' is equally great as it's recognition of our efforts to foster a happy workplace with a strong team ethic."
Marketing Manager, Emma Ashcroft, adds: "Angela Viney Conveyancing offers both the region and the UK a fantastic proposition. Whether it's to long-standing clients or new customers, the company deliver services that are as agile as they are traditional, the latter being something of a specialty in that the firm is family-run."
"This quality and flexibility of services is made possible by staff who have extensive experience in conveyancing being the ones who steadily train the company's assistants to the expected standard of excellence. However, this hands-on apprenticeship also allows for trainees to feel encouraged to introduce new ideas during their training, which in turn pushes forward the firms potential."
"What is absolutely key is that most of that training is delivered in-house by all of the Licensed Conveyancers in some part. This teamwork ensures that not just the knowledge and expertise are passed on, but also the values that have been an enduring quality intrinsic to the company's success for almost 30 years now. This 'company culture' is one of the major factors in cementing the extremely high level of customer retention that Angela Viney Conveyancing Services continues to enjoy."
This excellence of training and ongoing support to staff that both Angela Viney and Darren Becks provide can be measured by the pair's strong relations to both the Society of Licensed Conveyancers (SLC) as well as the Council for Licensed Conveyancers. Darren Becks is a member of the Board of Management of the Society, an optional membership organisation that promotes the interests of Licensed Conveyancers in general; and Angela Viney was also appointed to the Board of Management of the SLC, in 1993, becoming Chairman of the Society in 1995/96.
The Council for Licensed Conveyancers (CLC) is the regulatory body equivalent to The Solicitors Regulatory Authority for Solicitors. Angela Viney was elected to the CLC in 1995, becoming Chairman of the Council in 1998. She was also appointed and served as a member of the Council's Discipline Appeals Committee from 1995 until 2007, dealing with rule breaches within the profession that ranged from minor financial penalties to more serious issues that warranted the revoking of a Conveyancer's Licence.
Angela Viney is also a Justice of Peace, and as such, when combined with the above, more than meets the 'fit and proper' threshold required to be a Licensed Conveyancer. As a result, Angela Viney Conveyancing Services is highly respected throughout the industry. Despite this, though, the company is enjoying a period of growth that continues to build upon the excellent reputation that it has.
"The firm simply isn't staying still," Emma Ashcroft adds, "and hasn't done during what has been a decade of economic downturn. Instead, Angela Viney Conveyancing Services has shown tremendous resilience throughout this stormy period for businesses, continued to expand and demonstrated a worthy commitment to creating job opportunities in both Calderdale and Kirklees. Coupled with a determined business plan that is as committed to diversification as it is to growth, the future for the company feels really strong. Being nominated for 'Employer of the Year' couldn't have come at a better time for all of the team."
