Latest news on our Trainees

Four of our eight Trainee Conveyancers here at Angela Viney Conveyancing Services have been awarded the SQA Level 4 Diploma in Conveyancing Law & Practice. Annie Browne, Courtney Box, Lyndsey Bland and Sarah Whelan received the great news at the beginning of this month, and all are now eligible to apply to our regulatory body - the Council for Licensed Conveyancers - to become Conveyancing Technicians. Annie Browne has been with the company for over two years now, and is delighted to have made such progress with us in such a short space of time. She joined the firm following a decade of working with Estate Agents, actively seeking working for a Conveyancer. "Conveyancing is something I really wanted to do," Annie explains, "and I already knew Darren [Becks] from working in the property sector." "I applied for a part-time role initially, training with the company at the Halifax head office, before moving to the Huddersfield office to work as an assistant to one of the company's fee earners." "Then not long after I started studying to become a Conveyancer!"

Lyndsey Bland is a very established fee earner, having worked as a Conveyancing Executive for over 20 years, and joined Angela Viney Conveyancing Services in 2018. Having started to work towards her qualifications at a previous firm, Lyndsey has welcomed the opportunity to continue to gain formal recognition, and is now working towards her Level 6 qualification. Sarah Whelan also joined Angela Viney Conveyancing Services around the same time as Annie, and like her, got started with her training pretty much straight away. Sarah says, "I'd worked in property sales for some time but was actively looking to move into conveyancing." "I'd heard from an acquaintance that Michelle Pearson at the Shelf office was looking for support, so I applied for the role." "Straight after joining the company, I heard about their apprenticeship scheme and wanted to become a Trainee Conveyancer."

"I immediately started studying for my Level 4 Diploma and am starting working towards becoming a Licensed Conveyancer this time next year!" Finally, Courtney Box has been with the company the longest, having started working in a part-time role six years ago. Courtney explains, "I was 14 and all my friends had part-time jobs, so when my uncle [Darren Becks, Managing Partner] told me he needed some admin support at the office, I jumped at the chance." "I continued to work in different roles during my studies and after getting my A' Level results, I was offered places at five different universities." "However, I turned them all down in favour of an apprenticeship at the firm as it felt like a natural progression in what I'd been learning for the previous four years."

Managing Partner, Darren Becks, is thrilled with the team's achievements, adding, "We also have a fifth team member, Mandy Hyde, who is waiting on some final exam results any time soon." "In addition to this, we also have a further four team members also working towards their qualifications." "They are Meighan Hargreaves, Sophie Robinson, Corey Waterworth and Liam Gavagan." All three partners here at Angela Viney Conveyancing Services are delighted with everybody's continued development and success. Having just announced a merger with Linda Heald & Co, there's never been a better time for the firm as a whole to meet the demand it anticipates for its services during the busy summer months.
